The Fizzy Friends Series

The Fizzy Friends Series has been written for children who want to understand, conquer and shrink their emotional worries. This lively, fun series provides strategies for parents and children to work on together at home. Each book deals with one theme.  Fizzy Lizzy struggles with anxiety, Rory's Roars deals with anger. Ellie and the Ouches is for over-sensitivity, Invisible Isobel is for attention-seeking. Nina and the No-No's covers oppositional behaviour, Jane and the Shame Shadows deals with shame and self loathing, The Tale of Spiky Mikey is about sibling jealousy and Fred and the Dread Monster focuses on the horrible feeling of dread.

Each story stands alone but the characters often appear in each others' stories just for extra fun for the reader. The books are aimed at ages 6-11.

Written with compassion, sensitivity and real insight into the pain of emotional imbalance, these stories offer children a vulnerable, lovable, quirky little character to guide them through the world of emotional turbulance.

Lizzy, Nina, Jane, Ellie, Fred, Rory, Mikey and Invisible Isobel are waiting to meet you!

All available on Amazon in paperback and ebook formats.

Adoption story-poem books

Most books about adoption focus on what adoption is and why it happens. This series focuses more on the areas that can be forgotten or are less well provided for.

Daddy Wishing is a book to celebrate adoptive fathers. It's suitable for children of single Dads or two parent families. The story is of a child and his Dad delighting in how well matched they have been in their adoption.

My Two Mums celebrates a same-sex adoptive home. The child is explaining and rejoicing about the love, support, guidance and fun she experiences in her family. It touches on the adoption and court process.

10 Big Wishes is about waiting for adoptive parents to be found. It tells the tale of a little girl who sends her wishes out into the world. With a little help from the universe, her Forever Parents are discovered.

My Two Forever Dads delights in growing up with 2 fab Dads. It touches on leaving the foster home and the Court Order. Its focus is on the many ways that Parents experience parenthood, seen through the eyes of one happy little girl.

Rainbow Remembering helps children understand that their previous foster carers did not stop loving them or thinking about them when they moved to their adoptive homes. Told through a conversation between carers and a little boy, it stresses how memories endure through time. Ideal for foster carers to give to the child before the adoption introductions, or for adopters to read to their child during the months after their child moves in.
